uInnovate

uInnovate was a projectin 2022 that my husband and I are worked on that served as an idea incubator hub for the next generation.

The name of this project, uInnovate, comes from the fact that we live on a road called Route U and we want to facilitate innovation.

My husband, Hovhannes, holds a BS in Computer Engineering with a background in Mechanical Engineering and works in satellite communications. He is pursuing his MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a focus in signal processing and satellite communications.

I, Karina, have a BS in Business Information Technology and a MEd in Learning, Design, and Technology. I’m also a certified Scrummaster and hold my PMP certification. I have a background in Project Management, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, and Supply Chain.

We’ve always wanted to create a space for the next generation to learn and grow other than the traditional school setting. We envision a place where there are no boundaries or limitations of what they want to learn. We aim to provide mentorship and idea facilitation to encourage experiential learning based on a question that the learner poses. This project was a pilot for the type of learning space we want to provide.

Vision: To help young professionals gain the skills required to explore problems they are passionate about.

Mission: uInnovate will work to provide appropriate mentorship opportunities, idea facilitation, and resources related to a specific question posed by young professionals.

Project teams and mentors are responsible for seeking funding and sponsorship for needed supplies. Project meetings are typically weekly in person or via video/audio conference.
